More Me Time

Although my husband doesn't understand my whole need for paper, I am so thankful I get to play with it. Things have been crazy around here. Germs, germs and more germs. Started a week ago with Danny. He seemed to bounce back after Sunday. Wednesday morning, my husband comes home from work with it. Seemed to be fine Friday until the evening....it is back or never went away and is now striking with a vengeance! Danny's is starting back up again. And now me.....I am opposite on their germ spectrum. I am stuffy, major sore throat, stomach hurts on and off. Coughing....aching....I got a flu shot this year.
I had to escape the past couple of days, down to my corner in the basement. I worked on my challenge lead for CBD, I'm glad I got that finished just in case I'm not feeling quite up to par the next few days. I created for CBD's week 4 challenges and was also able to create a few for the Outlawz. I also made a lay out just because.
The Outlawz - CAS - Melting Pot
Create using at least 4 items and still keep it CAS

The Outlawz - Twisted Thursday

Bitten by the Bug 2 Flower Challenge and a few others...

After being crazy busy at work and trying to get my house in order after my son came home from school with a stomach virus at the end of last week AND my husband coming home from work with it this morning, I really needed some paper and me time.
I haven't participated in a BBTB2 challenge for a while. This week's challenge was to use a 6 petal flower cut and layer it on. I'm not exactly thrilled with what I made, but I was playing with paper and it made me happy.
I also made a couple of cards for a couple of the challenges over at the Outlawz. I haven't entered any thing over there for quite some time. I miss my crafty ladies over there.
Monday Greeting Card Challenge
The Outlawz just had a birthday and this week's challenge was
to create a western themed birthday card.

The Outlawz - CAS Sunday
Create a CAS card with something new or something that you
had stashed away and never used. I found these b-day embellishments
when I cleaned and organized my messy scrappy area a couple of weeks ago.

The Outlawz - Paper ala Mode
Create a CAS Valentine
It's late and that 5:30 a.m. alarm goes off too quick. Don't forget to check out all of the awesomeness over at Crafting by Designs. We may be small, but our friendships and talents are huge!
Have a great night!

CBD - Chipboard Challenge

Hello!
One of the challenges this week is to create something made from chipboard. CBD's awesome design team member, Tammy Martinez, chose the challenge. Check out Tammy's fabulous creations here. I had a lot of fun with this one. I had a mini chipboard album stashed away in my desk drawer. It came from the dollar bins at Michael's.
A very good friend of mine had a beautiful baby boy a couple of weeks ago. I made this for him.
As always, thanks for stopping by - have a great night!

CBD Week 3

Wow! I can not believe we are into the 3rd week of January! The new year is flying by. This week over at Crafting By Designs, I am the lead on the CAS Challenge. Clean & Simple cards are hard for me. Oh who am I kidding, any kind of card can be hard for me. lol  Anyway, I am still excited to be a member of the design team and I am going to do my best at posting some awesome challenges and creating new inspiration. These are the cards I came up with:

My challenge for the CAS challenge was to create a CAS Card using either 4 squares or 4 circles. Not quite sure why I chose shapes or the number 4. On the above card I used a doodle stencil to create my doodle. I also used paper from my scrap pile. I reorganized and majorly cleaned my area. Instead of having my scraps in several drawers, I downsized and are keeping them in a large accordion folder and it is to the right of my chair, not hidden away, it is right there! I go there first before looking at any other paper.

I also entered the following in 2 challenges at CBD. The first card is for the Year in Cards. This week we were to create a sympathy card using the sketch provided by our Guest Designer, Heide. Heide's cards are awesome! The 2nd card was submitted for the Valentine's challenge, hosted by Julia. Julia's cards are also awesome! So much talent out there!

Well, it is almost 1:00 a.m., time to get the jams on and settle into the recliner for the night. My babe isn't feeling well this evening. Major stomach problems since 9:00 p.m., couldn't tell you how many times I've cleaned the bathroom tonight. I feel better being out in the living room, then in my bed. He's not going to school tomorrow, so at least we can somewhat sleep in. Tomorrow is a new day and I hope he is feeling much better.
As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Today's the day!

Today is the day of my very first official Design Team Debut. You can check out Crafting by Designs here. I am the lead this week on the 2nd of our new features - Getting Ready for Christmas. This will be featured twice a month. The first time of the month by a DT Member, the 2nd time by a Guest Designer, chosen by the DT Member. We will be providing sketches from MoJo Monday's. Awesome! A sketch usually helps me out in a creative funk. My card is very CAS, which is something I struggle with. I am quite pleased with how it turned out.
Check out MoJo Monday's here. I used Sketch 196. I also love turning card sketches into layouts. Give it a try.
On a sadder note, my computer died. We had a brown out, followed by a complete power outage, and by-bye computer. I'm going crazy! Not a good thing to have happen when your new role as a DT member is happening. So....between work, my mom's and my sister's, I'm going to manage to do this. Also, I'm going to play with my son's iPod and find out exactly what it will do. The computer is a swore subject in our house. Dear, darling hubby does not want another one coming in the house. He can not get his way...he'll cave eventually, our son needs a computer for his school work, but as long as I'm the one driving him to different computers, hubby is not affected. My goal is to have enough $$ saved up for one within 3 to 4 months. A long time to go without, but I'll make do.
Thanks for stopping, let me know you were here. Do something wild-n-crazy...become a follower!
Have a great day!

A New Year = New Adventures

Wow! 2012! We're only on the 4th day of new year and I have a feeling it is going to be a good one.
First off, Crafting By Designs was looking for new Design Team Members. I hesitated for the l-o-n-g-e-s-t time, but then sent a message off to Doris. Doris got back to me really quick. So...without further ado...I am now on a Design Team. I'm so excited and nervous too. I lack major self confidence and since I joined this incredible site filled with the most wonderful ladies, Doris has always been my biggest supporter and confidence booster. My first lead on a challenge doesn't begin until next week. I will have it posted here. I was able to create for the first new feature tonight - A Year in Cards
Tammy was the lead for the Challenge. She provided us with a sketch and the rest was up to us. Next week I'm going to jump in with Tammy for the Cricut challenge. I'll make my card this weekend, but won't post until next week, so if you all want to see it, you have to check back.

We are going to have an incredibly fun time. 2 new features, A Year in Cards and Getting Ready for Christmas. Our weekly challenges post on Friday, there are 2 of them. You have all month to create and post your takes with a chance to win an awesome prize. Who doesn't like a chance at winning something?
Stop on over and check us out!
