Simply Scrapping Crafts, November Week 3 Card Corner

Simply Scrapping November Stamp & Scrap Wk 3 Challenge

I can never ever get the link on the challenges to work to my photos on Simply Scrapping so I have to do it this way.

I was able to get a little mental therapy in today. Much needed. My life is on major overload right now.

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween Everyone! I can not believe the month of October is at it's end. WOW! Our Trick Or Treat was last night. Works out well because the Steeler game is on tonight! My husband and I are taking Danny this afternoon to a viewing of the original Frankenstein with Boris Karloff. I hope Danny can handle it. He didn't do well when I was playing scary Halloween music for him earlier in the week.
I Zombiefied Danny yesterday. I think he turned out quite well. He received lots of compliments. The rotting flesh looked better as the evening went on. Danny begged for his costume next year to be a mask. I just don't like masks, I prefer making his costumes. Just add it to my "to do" list every year.
November will be a busy, busy month for me. I have a scrapbook to make, my goal is to have it made within 3 weeks. I'm doing it as a favor for my friend. She is giving it to her mom for her 75th b-day. Last week Kathy and I sorted through all of the pics and put them in order. I have my work cut out for me.
November is also my daughter's bridal shower, she is getting married in December. I was able to make and mail out the invitations earlier in the week. I also have cookies to bake for the wedding, btw cookie suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've never made Lady Locks, are they hard to make? Recipes please? Kelly's shower is the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so at least I will have all day Friday to prepare. Oh, and I still don't have a dress yet.
I did notice and made a mental note to myself, do not take pics when my hair is pulled back in a ponytail, makes me look old, alot older than what I am and apply a little more makeup.
Well time is a tickin' and I have scrapbookin' to do. I won't be able to participate in any challenges for a month or so and the thought of that is killing me. Life does get in the way sometimes.
As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great night!
GO STEELERS!!!

October???

I can not believe that it is October! Where did the summer go?
Where did September go? We are getting our dose of Indian Summer.
The temp is in the high 70's and is supposed to hit 80 on Monday! We had 4 days of rain and temps in the high 40's. Talk about depression! Amazing what happens to your inner self when that big, bright yellow orb appears in the sky.
This is my submission for Simply Scrapping Crafts. October Week 1 Card Corner. Use Black, White and one other color. This was probably one of the fastest cards I have ever made.
***Exciting News*** I was chosen as one of the winners over at Christmas Cards All Year Round!! So happy and so surprised! It was the first time I entered the challenge over there. I'm pretty happy about it.
I played with paper today, not as much as I would have liked to because my Friend Elisabeth and her baby, Liam stopped for a surprise visit. I haven't seen Elisabeth in ages. It was nice visiting. Liam is getting so big!
I'll be posting more later. I have tons to post!!!
Thanks for stopping and Have a great night!!

Steeler Sunday

I thought I put these on right, but apparently not. Ugh! I'm so frustrated. I used to be able to do it, I don't know if somehow I changed my settings on here.
These are photos from a cute paper bag album I created. I was surfing through really old blogs yesterday and saw this. I had everything here at home, it was pretty easy and took me a little over an hour or so. I have so many challenges to work on, but I really don't feel like it. I just want to do my own thing in my own time right now. I'm a little challenged out.
I also discovered this cute little gift card holder to make. Super easy, made from a toilet paper roll. Didn't take long at all. However I do suggest glueing a few of these the day before, let them dry overnight, then decorate. If I get some time later, I'm going to glue away.
Last night I went to my sister's for a campfire. Overdid it on the wine a little. Well I drank the whole bottle. Slight headache and dragging major butt today, but oh well. I don't do that very often, and it was a perfect night. My mom and brother also came up so it was a great time with my little family. My husband wasn't very social, but what else is new? He really needs to learn how to socialize, well not even, just be friendly.
I'm waiting for the kitchen and bathroom floors to dry. Then I have a date with Miss Clairol. I'm attempting to dye my own hair today. I used to pay to have it done, but that got pricey. My niece did it for me in June, but she is in New York now. My mom did it for me the beginning of August, but missed a few spots. So why not? I am hoping to get this done before the Steeler Game. I'll be a football widow, my husband will watch it in the basement, I will watch it upstairs in the living room. Like I said, he doesn't know how to socialize.
Well thanks for stopping by - have a great day/night!

In great need of mental therapy

Yesterday and today I have been in great need of mental therapy. I made this cute little baby album yesterday. (Someday I will figure out how to post the pics on this blog correctly.) This is the cover of course, and the ones above it are pics of the inside. The album is held together with a BBQ Skewer and a ponytail holder. The size is an 8 x 8, but I think a 5 x 7 would work better. The ponytail holder is as stretched out as it will get.

Tomorrow I will post today's projects. I didn't feel like working on challenges. I just wanted to do my own thing today.

Maybe I can get the other pics to post below. Well they didn't post below, they posted above. So when you look at the album, start at the bottm and work your way up. (Sorry)

As always...thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

SSC Sketchy Saturday Week 2

Crystal Blue Persuasion was the song we used to describe how blue Danny's eye were. Now 9 years later, every time he hears the song, he turns it up and says, "The radio's playing my song." Oh enjoy every moment, they grow up way too fast. I miss having a baby in the house.

SSC Sketchy Saturday Week 1 September

Mojo wasn't flowing how I wish it would have been, but I had some "me" time. Made me sad doing this - my baby isn't a baby anymore. He's 9. This pics are from a friend of mine. I found a disc of pictures I never printed.

Christmas Cards All Year Round - Part 2 Correction

I was so excited to submitt my cards that I duplicated the picture of one card, and left this one out. Oops! Someday I will get the hang of doing this.
This is official now, all 5 of my cards are submitted. I apologize for the mess up. :)

Christmas Cards All Year Long

My first submission to this group. The rules are simple...create 5 Christmas cards using the challenge given. The challenge for September was to create 5 different or 5 of the same cards not using the standard card size and somewhere in your creation you were to use gold, silver, crystals or pearls. I'm happy I was able to finish tonight.

These are my 5 cards, and I have completed the challenge for September.

As always thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Summer's Ending

Wow I can not believe how fast this summer has gone by. School starts next week for Danny. 4th grade! Time goes by in a blink of an eye. I'm in a melancholy type of mood today. Not sure why, not sure of exactly how I want to feel. Some problems at home need tended to and right now I'm not sure how to do that.

Over at Simply Scrapping Crafts we are posting our challenges differently. We are to link them directly to our blog (I think). I'm still trying to get the hang of it. Anyway here is my take on the Stamp & Scrap, August Week 4, Spotlight Challenge. (If you haven't been over there to visit yet, I suggest you go. Every one is so wonderful. Creative Update

Someday I will figure out how to use this photo uploader correctly. Please bare with me while I figure out.

These cards were created for SSC challenges. Please stop over there and check out the incredible talents of Judy, the owner, The amazing DT and the awesome creations of it's members. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Aren't this little ghouls adorable? This was made for the August Paper Scraps Challenge. Using your paper scraps create a card using at least 3 die cut images.
The Friends Card to the right was made for the August Card Challenge, you had to use a frame, any kind of frame on your card. I never used frames on my cards before, and I really like the look of it.
Today is our nephew's graduation party. I've made 5 pounds of sour cream cucumbers and 8 pounds of broccoli casserole, which is in the oven baking right now. It is smelling wonderful. I've never made it in a bulk amount before, I hope it turns out and tastes great.
I have 1-1/2 hours before we have to leave. I need to get ready and my son needs to get ready. It is a gorgeous day outside, low 80's, no humidity. I would love more than anything to stay at home and relax, but...
Have a great day. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know you were here.
Thanks for stopping by.

August????

Wow! I can not believe how summer has flown by. I've been quite busy and haven't crafted as often as I would like to. Vacation for 10 days, then home for a week, then gone again for the weekend. I'm trying to catch up on chores and laundry.
Tonight I'm watching my friend's baby. I haven't had a baby in the house since Danny was a baby. I tried baby proofing as much as I could yesterday. Hopefully all goes well tonight.
On Sunday I have to decide which of my scrapbook pages and cards I'm going to enter in the Lawrence County Fair. I also have to go through the premium book with Danny. He has a few things he would like to enter. Also, next Friday will be our baking day, then Saturday morning we will take our baked goods and veggies up to be entered. Last year Danny won 1st place with his "Ginger Cookies" They were supposed to be "Ginger Snaps" but something happened that they didn't snap and they were soft, so we changed the name and he won 1st place. Not too bad for a screw up.
Tomorrow Danny and I are going to WalMart, Costco's and somewhere to find a pair of tennis shoes. Hopefully it goes well. Danny's not real into shopping.
Well my lunch hour is over and I have to get back to work. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

BBTB2 Owl Challenge

BBTB2's Challenge for this week is to use an Owl in your project. I didn't have the cartridge they used, but used the Owl from Create A Critter. This was a perfect challenge, I needed to make a b-day card for an adorable little guy who is turning 1. Creat a Critter is slowly becoming a favorite cartridge of mine.

If you get a chance, stop over at Bitten By the Bug 2 and take a look at all of the awesomness that is there. That is one group of talented ladies. They never cease to amaze me.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

BBTB2 Genie Lamp Challenge July 4, 2010

This week's challenge for BBTB2 was to use the Genie Lamp found on the Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge. PPDU is one of my favorite cartridges. I'm not really happy how this card turned out, and didn't have time to re-do it. I made it for my sister-n-law's 50th birthday.

Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July. Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday, June 29th

Someday I will figure out how to post correctly on this blog. Here are a few cards I made for challenges over at Simply Scrapping Crafts. My blog posting is below. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.....

I can not believe how fast the month of June flew by. It seems just as I am ready to enjoy summer, it is half over. The next few days will be very busy for me. We are trying to get away for the weekend, but have to be home very late Saturday night. My sister-n-law is turning 50, and my husband's family is having a surprise b-day party for her on the 4th of July.
Thanks for stopping by.

I'm sorry Dear Blog

I can not believe it has been almost 2 months since I have posted anything in my blog. I feel so bad. I have been very busy with lots of things. It seems once summer rolls around a lot of what I have been doing gets put on the back burner. I'll get back to those things once Fall comes. I have been doing a lot over at Simply Scrapping Crafts. The challenges are great and the ladies over there are wonderful!
The latest challenge I completed was for Wacky Wednesday. Transform a tin into some sort of summer kit. I didn't have a tin, but used a cigar box instead. I have a huge supply of cigar boxes. I seem to have an addiction to them. I do find uses for them eventually. I transformed a plain wooden cigar box into a travel kit for my son to use in the car. He loves it. I hope you guys do too.
This is the back of it. My pictures didn't post how I wanted them. Anyway, I laminated the tic tac toe board. I also laminated the bingo cards and hangman cards. A dry erase marker will work well, and easily wiped clean to use over and over again.
The Front:

The inside. I love the pic on the inside. The building on the right is the Klafter Cigar Company, which is the brand of cigars that were inside.

All of the goodies:

Bitten By the Bug 2 is having a cool challenge this week. Use the "Genie Lamp" from Paper Doll Dress Up. That is one of my favorite cartridges, and sadly I had no idea that this on it. Look through those booklets carefully, you never know what little extra surprises you may find! I hope I find a little bit of time to create something this week. I need to make a 50th b-day card for my sister-n-law and have a good idea on what I want to do. It would be great if I could incorporate the card to fit more than one challenge.
Thanks for stopping by. That is if I am still having any one follow me. I'm horrible at updating!
Have a great night!
