Well it is officially starting to cool off here in Western Pennsylvania. Tomorrow is supposed to be mid 80's, but very low humidity. I'll take it.
Over at BBTB2, the challenge this week was to use the Ice Cream Cone Cut from the Sweet Treats Cartridge. If you do not have that cartridge, you may use an Ice Cream Cone from another Cartridge. I used Doodlecharms for mine. I absolutely love this cart. I used the border cut, and cut it at 5-3/4". For the back of the card, I used the flip option, and cut the same. The card is attached with the brad on top of the cone on the left. I am also entering this in the Outlawz Greeting Card Monday Challenge. The challenge over there is week was to create a shaped card other than a square or rectangle. I tried my best, I think I bit off a little more than I can chew, but not bad for my first time. It looked a lot better in my head.
Sadly tonite is the last night I can play with paper, busy, busy, busy. Won't be able to play until after August 8th.
Thanks for stopping by, please say hello. I love to read your comments. They are greatly appreciated.
I love paper! The way it feels - the way it smells. Scrap Happy is just my own little place where I can write about anything and display my creations. My very own Mental Therapy Heaven.

It's like a Heatwave...Burnin' in my heart....And everywhere else....
(Im)patiently waiting for this heatwave to end. It is miserable. I do not honestly remember the last time it was this hot for this long of time. My son & I went to a state park beach on Friday. Took one step into the lake water and EWWWW.....it was like bath water and as the day progressed, the water got warmer. Yesterday we went to a graduation party, everyone stayed outside, but would go in every once in a while to cool off, I learned that I was better off staying outside. By going in, cooling off then going back out, I was hotter. Every day there is a chance of rain, I keep waiting....and waiting....and waiting... In the meantime I water our garden and flowers and pray our well doesn't dry up.
I spent most of my day inside today and worked on a few challenges. Time is limited this week, very busy, and vacation starts in 5 days. Lots of grocery shopping and packing to do.
If you stop by here and visit, please let me know. I enjoy your comments and would like to build up my following. Who knows, maybe if I hit 30 followers I'll have some yummy blog candy...
As always, thanks for stopping by. I hope its cool where you are.

BBTB2 Penguin Challenge
Happy HOT Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. Where I live it is hot, hot, hot with an added side of HIGH HUMIDITY. I can not stand humidity. I'm feeling a little under the weather. Not sure if it is because of the heat or I caught a little bug. I did find some time to play with paper this evening and this is what I came up.
The challenge was to use the Penguin cut from Joys of the Season (I believe - I should have double checked that before I posted) or a Penguin from any cartridge if you do not have that particular one. Since I do not have that one, I used Create a Critter which I just absolutely love. The cuts on there are adorable!
Try to keep cool. It can't be this hot forever. Thanks for stopping by.

The Front Nothing to original, but I do think it is cute. |
The Inside Please...I hope no one takes offense to this. There was no intention of offending anyone. It is just so very hot here, and at the time I thought it was appropriate. |

Correction - Previous Post's title
I do this every time I refer to this site, I always call it CCAYL, Christmas Cards All Year Long when it really is:
CCAYR - Christmas Cards All Year Round. I apologize for my error.
I'm also entering one of my Christmas Cards in a challenge over at the Outlawz, but haven't decided which one yet.

CCAYL - July Challenge
I joined this site last year and really haven't participated much. It just seems hard to make 5 Christmas Cards when it's not Christmas. This month's challenge was to use white as the primary color and bling it up. Well I think CAS is more my style and it is hard for me to add a lot of bling. I'm hoping these cards are ok and they do fit the challenge. If not, I will gladly withdraw them.
These are all 5 of my cards for the month.
Here in PA we are beginning the hottest week we've had for 2 years. Highs in the high 90's, lows in the 70's. I'm not liking that too much. We only have 2 window air conditioners and the one in the living room really seems to be pushing itself come 7:00/8:00 at night. These temps are supposed to remain like this through the end of the month. I hope they are wrong and the heatwave is over sooner.
As always, thank you for stopping by. Please don't be shy, let me know you were here. I appreciate your comments. And if you really feel wild-n-crazy, become a follower of my blog.

5 Challenges and One HOT Sunday
We spent all day in Erie yesterday. My guys went fishing with my brother-n-law out on his boat and I hung back at the campground with my sister and niece. We did girl stuff all day. First, searched for beach glass, then went to a craft show, lunch, THEN my very first visit to Hobby Lobby! It was their Grand Opening and everything I bought was 50% off! I was a happy scrapper! It was so hot up there! I got sunburned and actually started feeling ill from being so hot. Today I opted to stay indoors and worked on 5 Challenges. I don't think I've ever worked on 5 Challenges before!
The Outlawz - Paper ala Mode - Flowers
I opted for an altered item and used a battery operated candle. I have several of these left from my daughter's bridal shower.
The Outlawz - Color Challenge - Use Orange, oatmeal and green with gold accents somewhere |

Crafting By Designs
Woo who! My first challenge entry since joining Crafting By Designs. (I joined today!) This is for July's Week 1 Color Challenge. I am so happy to be reconnected with this group. SSC has closed. Rather abrupt too. Angie and Doris (You're Awesome!) didn't want it to end, so they started up Crafting By Designs. I'm looking forward to making new friends and rekindling the old friendships.
I wish I had more time to play with my paper. Seems like life has a way of getting in the way.
As soon as we were able to walk, by dad literally put a small Zebco fishing rod in our hands. Mine was black and white. I believe it may still be in my mom's basement somewhere. This photo was from 1972. Hard to believe that almost 40 years have gone by. I loved fishing with my dad. From shore and from the boat. Now I regret those teen years setting in and not wanting to do it with him. For a time we grew apart. It wasn't until my mid 20's we came together again. Oh how I miss him. He's been gone for 8 years now. Some days I forget and can't wait to call him and tell him about something, be it a joke I heard on the radio or a deer or a flock of turkey I saw on my ride home, then I remember. There's not a day that goes by that I do not think about him. Some days with tears, some days without. I never knew that I would be able to miss someone so much. I love you Dad!
Well....enough of that....
Thanks for stopping by. Don't be shy, leave a note and let me know you were here. Become a follower. I can not guarantee I will post once or twice a week, but you just never know!

BBTB2 Starfish Challenge
This week's challenge was chosen by Heather. Use the starfish from Life's a Beach or any starfish from another cartridge. I was going to use Patrick from Spongebob, and Heather liked that idea. I cut out Patrick, put him all together and just sat there at my messy desk. Nothing was coming to me. I looked through the book, which I have to say I found a lot of cuts I didn't even know existed. (You really need to look at all of the options!) I came up with this layout. Not exactly thrilled with it. Seems like it is missing something, but then I'm in a mood this evening.
This was taken so long ago, 2006! I am so behind on my scrapping. I wonder if I will ever catch up. This is from a day my bff and I spent with our kids at the beach. Brad & Melissa (left and middle) are my bff's, and my babe Danny, is on the right. Danny was 5 when this was taken. Our kids think they are cousins, which is cool. Lisa and I have been bff's for over 36 years. Pretty amazing, huh?
Anyway, I am posting this pic (hopefully) of a card I made with Patrick a couple of months back. I didn't feel right entering it since it wasn't newly created.
My babe doesn't feel well tonight. Poor kid suffers from migraines and has one now. I'm off to give him my undivided attention. Get the migraine under control and hit the sack.
As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great night!
